最近想找一點classical的jazz music來練習, 大家有沒有一些曲子是一拿出來, 玩sax的朋友都會知道的呢? 當然是for beginner的, thanks!

應該是說在古典爵士樂中, 有沒有一些比較經典的sax樂譜.

希望這樣好一點

或許這位大哥的意思是傳統的爵士樂,用古典爵士樂會讓人以為是古典改成爵士樂

So you are trying to say "classic" Jazz?

to be more specific, it should be classic classical Jazz. 'Coz i think it woud have heaps of differences between the Classical and Pop Jazz. I don't know whether it does have "op Jazz" technically, you know what I mean

Sigh... it's getting more confusing when we are dwelling into the terminology, and I don't think this is how music is supposed to be explored.  Let's start with some of your favorite Jazz musicians, if you don't listen to Jazz, who are some of your favorite musicians.  Once we figure that out, maybe we can help you to find what you are looking for specifically.

You got the point !!! I literally don't have a starting point and that's exactly why I asked this clumsy question ,but we are on the same wavelength eventually, it's amazing, isn't it?

how about that, you name your favorite musicians and I'd try to sort out whether they are my cups of tea   Thanks mate.

I think everywhere can be the starting point , just go to youtube(good thing,hah) and just search something maybe just 'jazz', spend some times to seek for your favourite. Anyone you like that can be the starting point

對了~
如果是Classic Jazz的話，好像一般都直接叫做Standard曲吧?

譬如說~
Autumn Leaves, (幾乎所有樂手都會演奏過)
Donna Lee, Gaint Step, Four, St. Thomas 等

還是大家都還是會錯意了?!

原來 Straight, No Chaser 是這樣翻譯啊?

Sorry about the late reply, but here you go, some of my favorite Jazz musicians.  (Please keep in mind, these are my favorite, they may not be your cup of tea, but they are definitely masters of Jazz).

John Coltrane
Charlie Parker
Paul Desmond
Lee Konitz
Joshua Redman
Kenny Garrett
David Sanborn

Trumpet:
Miles Davis
Clifford Brown
Chet Baker
Wynton Marsalis

This should take you a while to youtube all these musicians, find someone that you enjoy and then maybe we can help you find more from the genre.
